Midges are tiny, biting flies that are common in Scotland. They come in huge swarms, and their bites are very painful.
A recent meme from a group I follow:
The last time I wore a suit jacket was ~2013. My mother had just passed; I was in Baltimore, and the memorial service was to be in Canton, Ohio. I was #homeless. But the shelter where I was staying was set up a certain way; you had to take a shower every day, and they had a clothes room where you could get a complete change of clothes every day.
The clothes in that room were such that you NEVER had to LOOK homeless. And most of the time, most of us didn't. Look homeless.
They fitted me up with a suit and suitable shoes to wear to my mother's memorial service.
