<div style="font-size:120%;width:25em;">The mention of ballet recalled to me the remark, “Margaret, do you want your daughter to be a whore?”  That’s pertinent enough the story of Gigi.  But I could not recall whose life it pertained to.  I did a search on “Wikipedia ballet whore,” and found an astonishing number of articles about sexual exploitation of women in the ballet world.  Later, I had TextPad search my diary files for the word “French,” and found that the remark pertains to Leslie Caron.</div>
